LED & Metal Halide Side by Side

A coralSky Versa LED lighting system, shown below, is installed over a 40 gallon display tank in a retail store in Palm Beach County, Florida. It consists of (1) White Kit and (2) Blue Kits for a combined color temperature of ~20,000°K and a total power consumption of 105 Watts.

It is mounted side-by-side with a 250 Watt, 20,000°K metal halide pendant to demonstrate that our systems can compete directly with metal halide in light intensity, coral appearance and growth, with substantial power savings (58% in this example) and no heat introduced into the tank.

This system was tested in our facility before it was shipped and produced over 400 PAR at 6” and over 200 PAR at 12”. In addition, the white LEDs can be easily turned off to demonstrate the fluorescence of the livestock under actinic lighting.
